This is an example of the type of film someone might send to us for transfer and posting to the site. We would post a three or four minute remix of the source footage with a summary, historical context, or personal story, and provide links to the original transfer footage hosted at the Internet Archive in MPEG-2 and other formats.

Home movies on 8mm film shot at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 1964. The filmmaker was on an officiating team for volleyball. His film contains Japanese volleyball teams training, sight-seeing, street scenes, and some amazing footage of the Olympic Stadium prior to the Opening Ceremonies as the final touches are being made and the flame is being tested.
